Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven according to the instructions on your brownie mix packaging, typically around 350°F (175°C). Prepare a greased 13x9 inch pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine sugar, light corn syrup, eggs, unsalted butter, and vanilla extract. Whisk together for about 15 minutes until thickened.
  3. Prepare the brownie mix as directed. Pour it into the greased pan and spread evenly. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until edges pull away from the pan.
  4. Remove the brownie base from the oven and add the pecan filling over the top. Spread it evenly.
