- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Gather your ingredients while the oven warms up.
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions in boiling, salted water for 8-10 minutes. Drain and rinse.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef and Italian sausage with chopped onion and minced garlic for 8-10 minutes.
- Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper to the meat mixture. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and half a cup of grated Parmesan cheese. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- In a greased baking dish, layer with meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers and finish with noodles and sauce on top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered for another 20 minutes.
- Let the lasagna cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
