Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Gather your ingredients while the oven warms up.
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions in boiling, salted water for 8-10 minutes. Drain and rinse.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef and Italian sausage with chopped onion and minced garlic for 8-10 minutes.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper to the meat mixture. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and half a cup of grated Parmesan cheese. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  6. In a greased baking dish, layer with meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers and finish with noodles and sauce on top.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered for another 20 minutes.
  8. Let the lasagna cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
