  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar adjust to taste
For the Veggie Component
  • 4 cups broccoli florets can swap with other crunchy veggies
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Slice the flank steak against the grain into thin strips. Combine with soy sauce, peanut oil, and cornstarch in a bowl. Marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Whisk together chicken or beef stock, Shaoxing wine, dark soy sauce, and brown sugar in another bowl. Set aside.
  3. Bring water to boil in a nonstick skillet. Add broccoli and steam for 1 minute. Drain and set aside.
  4. Heat oil in the same skillet over high heat. Add beef in a single layer and cook until browned, about 30 seconds.
  5. Flip beef strips, add garlic and ginger, and stir until fragrant, about 15 seconds.
  6. Fold steamed broccoli into the skillet with beef. Pour in sauce and stir to coat. Cook for 1 minute until sauce thickens.
  7. Remove from heat and serve over hot rice or noodles.
